In one or two sentences introduce yourself:
I work in the fashion industry as a hair stylist, own two Auckland central city salons and two powder rooms. My time is divided up between my businesses and spending time with my family – my husband Stephen and Billy (2 ½ and Johnny 9 months).
What’s your biggest project going on now?
We are about move our salon in Ponsonby to a bigger site and add a powder room to the whole development. So, it’s really trying to do all this and balance it with family stuff.
What do you spend your days doing?
Everything! HR, marketing, training, VIP clients, looking at figures and reports – you’re pulled every which way!
Where’s your favorite place in New Zealand?
If I want to hang out and indulge a bit, i love losing myself in the Powder Room – I can't get enough of it! Otherwise, I love to grab a few goodies from the Pyrenees deli in Devonport (outstanding french bread!) and go and sit on Cheltenham Beach with a coffee and the paper. That’s where you’ll find me!
What’s your favourite tipple?
Definitely cognac.
Who inspired/or continues to inspire you most in your life?
Steve my husband and a couple called Magda and Franz who own Muka Gallery – they are in their 60s and are the most liberal, beautiful people. Finally my really good friend Cam –he's an artist.
What’s the latest thing downloaded to your iPod?
A great band called Windsor for the Derby – they are out of this world!
What’s your biggest weakness?
Boutique delis, cookbooks, beautiful lingerie, lip-gloss, shoes.
If you weren’t doing what you are doing now you’d…
Be in the food industry.
What are you reading?
Emails! … and the occasional morning paper… oh... i do flick through the odd cookbook…I have two young kids, so “reading time” is virtually non-existent.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Falling asleep in the afternoon with one of my boys in my arms.
What is your greatest fear?
Sharks and public speaking.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Expensive cheeses.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
To be a little more patient.
