I’m Jude Turner, about to turn 40, mother to Avery & David, wife to Don and Executive Chair of the Friends of Starship.
What’s your biggest project going on now?
Putting together the Friends of Starship cookbook which will be released for Mother’s Day next year.
What do you spend your days doing?
Getting children off to school, working on Starship projects, after-school activities.
Where’s your favourite place in NZ?
Our Omaha beach house in summer.
What’s your favourite tipple?
I have a weakness for good champagne.
Who inspired/or continues to inspire you most in your life?
My parents have been great role models, and it’s hard to look past the Starship kids for inspiration.
What’s the latest thing downloaded to your Ipod?
I am planning a signficant birthday party, so a load of 80’s classics – Tainted Love et al
What’s your biggest weakness?
Good food.
If you weren’t doing what you are doing now you’d…
Still be putting my event management and PR skills to good use for someone who needs them.
What are you reading?
My latest issue of Vanity Fair and books on parenting the strong-willed child.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Being on a relaxing family holiday, with lots of sun, no phones or e-mail, and plenty of time to just mooch.
What is your greatest fear?
That I outlive my children.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Fashion and magazines.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
That I knew then what I know now.

People abuse paraplegic carparks!
I just love it when….
the children are playing happily outside, the sun is shining and our resident tui is chirping in the pohutukawa trees.
