We are delighted to announce the following women and organisations as our Autumn 2009 recipients of funding from the Max Foundation for New Zealand Women Trust.
We think you'll agree they absoulutely embody the spirit of the Foundation and we are thrilled to be able to provide them support to enable them to acheive their goals.

Frocks On Bikes
Frocks on Bikes spreads the message that cycling is a convenient, fun and liberating form of transport for women.
Frocks on Bikes was formed last year in Wellington, when it got 350 ‘frockers’ glammed up and on their bikes for ‘Frockstock’ at the 350 Climate Action festivals in Auckland and Wellington.
“We are delighted to have won this money. Sassy women riding their bikes for the sheer joy and freedom of it is what we are all about,” says Megan Hosking, co-founder of Frocks on Bikes. “We are in the process of planning a number of other events throughout the warmer months and we are delighted to have the support of the Max Foundation which will assist us with these. “
The Max Foundation is delighted to plegde $1,500 to Frocks On Bikes to raise awareness and assist in growing the movement throughout New Zealand.

During FROCKtober
• 8 October – New Zealand's first ever Cycle Style Fashion Show – stylish cycles will grace the catwalk.
• 14 October – Frock on Bikes goes to the movies: Cycle Action Auckland presents a special screening of the fabulous cycle film Veer <http://www.veerthemovie.com/> – an intimate behinds the scenes look at bicycling culture.
• 24 October – Frocks on Bikes will be leading the cycles as we join forces with 350.org <http://350.org.nz/> for a special bicycle event on the International Day of Climate Action.

Rebecca Busch
Rebecca Busch is a young Auckland artist who is preparing for her first solo art exhibition at The Upstairs Gallery in Titirangi at the end of August.
Rebecca Busch has completed a Bachelor of Design majoring in printing from RMIT in Melbourne and at Unitec in Auckland.
“It is such a great feeling to be recognised and supported doing something you love and believe in,” says Rebecca. “The Max Foundation has allowed me to fulfill my dream and continue to create art that inspires others, provokes you to ask questions and live a little brighter each day.”
The Max Foundation is delighted to pledge $1,600 to Rebbeca to assist with her first solo show.
Anisha Balu
Anisha Balu is a Wellington student and employee at the Max Cuba Street store. Anisha has recieved a grant to assist with her upcoming trip to Thailand with the International Student Volunteers Organisation, of which she is one of 50 members.
The Organisation travels to a country that requires aid to complete projects required by the local community.
The Max Foundation is delighted to pledge $1,000 for Anisha's trip.
