In one or two sentences introduce yourself…
Hey my name is Hayley King, aka Flox, a painter, fashion designer and business operator.
What’s your biggest project going on now?
Long term, I’m working towards a group show with the Cut Collective at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery in October. Shortish term, I’m working on a couple of private painting commissions and my new summer range.
What do you spend your days doing?
Admin, despatch, meetings, brainstorming, painting, errands, and being a mum! (oh and drinking coffee!)
Where’s your favourite place in NZ?
I love going home to Ahipara. My dad still lives up there, right on the beach, a truly magical spot.
What’s your favourite tipple?
Vodka Gimlet (Vodka on the rocks with a dash of lime)
Who inspired/or continues to inspire you most in your life?
My number one inspiration is my three & a half year old son Bo. He keeps me going and inspires me to do my upmost best.
What’s the latest thing downloaded to your Ipod?
Game apps for my son, and Hipstamatic (a cool photography app)
What’s your biggest weakness?
Red Wine and snax
If you weren’t doing what you are doing now you’d…
Probably be a professional squash player.
What are you reading?

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
A good balance of love, passion, family, wealth, success, friends and opportunities.
What is your greatest fear?
Losing the ambition to achieve all of the above!
What is your greatest extravagance?
It hasn’t happened yet, but it will be when I buy a beautiful old car. I know I don’t need one, but damn I want one!
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I worry too much about what other people think; sometimes this affects my decision-making. I would change my sensitivity to other peoples’ opinions.
