Hi my name is Penny Stotter and I am a printmaker based in Auckland.

What’s your biggest project going on now?
The biggest project I have on at the moment is designing the t-shirt for this year’s Vodafone NZ music awards.

What do you spend your days doing?
I spend my days working on new pieces for upcoming exhibitions as well as doing the odd commission, I also do a bit of freelance finished art and have a job working part-time for Gorgi New Zealand which is an online bed linen store.

Where’s your favourite place in NZ?
Probably Waiheke where I lived for the past 3 years before moving back to Auckland.

What’s your favourite tipple?
Wine

Who inspired/or continues to inspire you most in your life?
I'm inspired by anyone who is brave enough to take the road less travelled, my Mum's a good example of someone who has done this.

What’s the latest thing downloaded to your Ipod?
This Mortal Coil's 'Song to the Siren’ which is on the soundtrack to The Lovely Bones.

What’s your biggest weakness?
I consider myself fairly sensible with money but occasionally I'll buy something ridiculously expensive and not very sensible at all.

If you weren’t doing what you are doing now you’d…
Still be doing something creative I hope, I've always loved interior design so I'd like to think I would be doing that.

What are you reading?
The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Being with my family on holiday.

What is your greatest fear?
Fear of failure.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Buying lovely things for my house like expensive artwork and rugs.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Being fearful of failure. I know making mistakes is all part of the journey but I still have to constantly remind myself of this.
